Employment Type: Full-time

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Capital Procurement Specialist to lead procurement efforts for a growing organization with an existing pilot and R&D facility undergoing expansion, alongside a significant brownfield redevelopment project. This hands-on role focuses on capital equipment, engineering services, construction, and related sourcing to support rapid project execution and facility growth. The ideal candidate brings a strong manufacturing background, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the agility to move quickly in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This position offers immediate impact and multiple opportunities to shape and build a dedicated procurement team as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end capital procurement for pilot/R&D operations and major brownfield redevelopment initiatives, including sourcing of equipment, materials, engineering/design services, construction contractors, and installation support.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, RFPs/RFQs, bid evaluations, and supplier selection processes to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality outcomes aligned with project timelines and budgets.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers and contractors, focusing on risk mitigation, performance guarantees, warranties, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including strategic partnerships with key vendors in manufacturing, process equipment, and construction sectors.
  • Drive cost savings, risk reduction, and efficiency improvements through supplier consolidation, competitive bidding, alternative sourcing, and innovative procurement approaches.
  • Manage procurement documentation, compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., safety, environmental standards for brownfield sites), and accurate tracking of spend, commitments, and savings.
  • Contribute to building procurement capabilities as the organization grows, including mentoring future team members, establishing best practices, and scaling processes for additional projects and facilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree or certifications such as CPSM, PMP, or CSCP preferred).
  • 8–10+ years of progressive procurement experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, with significant focus on capital projects, equipment sourcing, construction, or engineering services procurement.
  • Proven track record in capital-intensive environments (e.g., chemical, pharma, advanced manufacturing, or R&D facilities), including brownfield redevelopment or expansion projects.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset: self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving situations with the ability to innovate, take ownership, and deliver results rapidly.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and the ability to suggest additional relevant software packages to support rapid execution.
  • Willingness and ability to be based in or commute to the Noblesville/Indianapolis area with trips to the Marion, IN facility as needed or required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pilot/R&D or scaling facilities, where procurement supports both operational and developmental needs.
  • Familiarity with Indiana-specific regulations, construction contracting, or brownfield/environmental remediation procurement.
  • Demonstrated success in building or leading small procurement teams in growth- stage companies.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package, including base salary, performance bonus, and equity potential in a high-growth organization.
  • Opportunity for significant career advancement, including leading and expanding a procurement function.
  • Collaborative, innovative environment with direct impact on company growth and major capital initiatives.
  • Comprehensive benefits (health, retirement, etc.) and work-life balance support.
