Position Summary

ReElement Technologies is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Laboratory Sanitation Technician to support third-shift operations at its Noblesville, Indiana facility. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized and controlled laboratory and processing environment in the three laboratories as well as facility.

The ideal candidate will understand that laboratory sanitation goes beyond general housekeeping. This role requires careful adherence to documented procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment, accurate completion of sanitation records, and close coordination with laboratory, production, environmental health and safety, and maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize laboratory, processing, and designated production areas according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Clean work surfaces, floors, equipment exteriors, sinks, glassware areas, storage spaces, and other assigned locations.
  • Follow contamination-control practices to prevent cross-contamination between materials, samples, equipment, and work areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning of designated laboratory equipment and components as authorized and trained.
  • Properly use, label, store, and maintain cleaning chemicals, tools, and sanitation supplies.
  • Collect, segregate, label, and transfer laboratory and facility waste in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Respond promptly to spills and other sanitation needs while following established safety and incident-response procedures.
  • Complete cleaning logs, checklists, inspection records, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Inspect assigned areas and report equipment damage, leaks, unsafe conditions, inventory shortages, or potential contamination concerns.
  • Restock sanitation materials, personal protective equipment, and other assigned supplies.
  • Support facility organization and 5S initiatives.
  • Coordinate with laboratory and production personnel to complete sanitation activities without disrupting critical operations.
  • Follow all environmental, health, safety, quality, and security requirements.
  • Participate in required training, safety meetings, audits, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in industrial sanitation, laboratory support, manufacturing, chemical processing, healthcare, food production, or another controlled environment is preferred.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, safety instructions, chemical labels, and sanitation schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently during third-shift hours while communicating effectively with supervisors and other team members.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to consistently work the assigned overnight schedule.
  • Basic reading, writing, mathematics, and computer skills.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and approved chemical products.
  • Willingness to complete company-provided safety, hazardous-material, waste-handling, and emergency-response training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a chemical laboratory, analytical laboratory, research facility, or advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with contamination-control practices, chemical hygiene, Safety Data Sheets, and hazardous-waste procedures.
  • Experience working under documented quality or environmental management systems.

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, climb stairs, and perform repetitive cleaning activities.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, safety footwear, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
  • Ability to work around laboratory chemicals, processing materials, industrial equipment, elevated noise levels, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work third shift, including occasional overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
